How the donation works
What this is
SameYou is a charity registered in England and Wales working on recovery after brain injury and stroke — access to neurorehabilitation, mental-health and emotional recovery support, and clinical research and training. This is their fundraiser, and they chose to run it through property rather than through donations alone.
BricksForGood runs the property side of it. We are the service, not the charity: we hold a private portfolio and release selected homes below typical market rates, and when one of those sales completes we donate a fixed amount out of the fee we earn on the transaction.
The donation is not added to your purchase price and it is not a deduction from the seller. It comes from our commercial margin on the sale.
How much, and when
Every listing states its donation amount before you enquire. The figure is fixed per property — you always know what a purchase funds before you commit to anything.
The donation is paid on legal completion, not at offer, not at exchange. Nothing is donated for a sale that falls through.
Where the figures come from
- Donated to date
- £6,150 across 7 completed sales
- Pledged but not yet paid
- £32,300 attached to properties still available or under offer
These are deliberately separate. The first figure counts only sales that have legally completed. The second is what would be donated if every currently available property sold — it is not money that has been given, and we do not add it to the total shown on the site.
SameYou is a registered charity in England and Wales, number 1170102.
Why the properties are cheaper
The portfolio is private and the listings released from it are priced below typical market rates. Each one carries an independent RICS valuation, and the difference between that valuation and the asking price is stated on the listing. You can review the valuation before exchange.
A property is never published without an independent valuation. Where a figure has been estimated rather than supplied by a valuer, the listing cannot go live at all.
What we are not
We are not a financial adviser and nothing on this site is advice. Yields and rental figures are estimates based on comparable local lettings, not guarantees, and they exclude void periods, letting and management fees and maintenance. Stamp duty figures are estimates — confirm them with your conveyancer.
Capital is at risk. Past performance is not indicative of future results.
